The School of Veterinary Medicine brought home the campus’s top placement in U.S. News & World Report’s most recent rankings of professional and graduate programs, published Monday (April 7).
51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Davis again ranked first in the nation for veterinary medicine, consistent with its placement in the QS World University Rankings by Subject, released in March.
U.S. News updated rankings for six disciplines and other specialties in its 2025 edition of the .
The ranked 17th in the country for the most graduates practicing in primary care. It also ranked in Tier 1 (the top tier) for excellence in primary care training and among the leading medical schools for research. The school's specialty of public health tied for 27th among programs at all schools.
The master’s degree nursing program at the placed 19th among those at public schools and tied for 30th in the nation among 146 programs at all schools. U.S. News surveyed nearly 700 accredited nursing schools with graduate degrees. The school’s physician assistant program tied for 35th among programs at all schools.
The College of Engineering ranked 19th among public universities and tied for 34th among 198 private and public universities. Three specialties ranked in the top 20 among all schools: biological/agricultural engineering (third), civil engineering (tied for 13th) and environmental/environmental health engineering (tied for 15th). A total of 222 schools with doctoral degrees were surveyed.
The was tied for 30th among public universities and tied for 40th among 258 public and private schools. The news outlet sought data from 476 schools offering doctoral degrees.
U.S. News surveyed more than 500 institutions with master’s-level business programs accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. The ’s Full-Time MBA ranked 32nd among programs at public universities and 65th among the 133 at public and private universities that were ranked. The Part-Time MBA, offered in Sacramento and the San Francisco Bay Area, tied for 29th among programs at public universities and 42nd among those at all 241 schools ranked.
The College of Letters and Science had several specialties ranked in the top 40 among those at public and private universities:
- Psychology, tied for 14th
- English, tied for 21st
- Economics, tied for 24th
- Political science, 25th
- History, tied for 25th
- Sociology, tied for 36th
