51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Davis TAG requirements

The 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Davis Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG) is a written agreement that guarantees admission to 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Davis in a specific major from any California community college (CCC). 

All majors except Computer Science and Data Science are open to TAG. All students interested in applying to the Computer Science or Data Science major must still submit the 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ application from October to December. Both majors are still selective majors and you can view the admission requirements.
The business major opens for transfer students starting in fall 2027. For specific major requirements, students should consult . Please note, Transfer Admissions Guarantee is not available for the business major.
For coursework in winter/spring/summer 2020 terms only, Pass or Credit grades will be allowed in lieu of letter grades; Please refer to the additional selective major TAG requirements in the corresponding areas below.

Apply for a TAG

  1. Use the (TAP) to start your TAG application.
  2. Review it with your
  3. Submit the TAG application by September 30 via the 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ TAP. Review your TAG decision after mid-November.

Meet the following TAG requirements

Enrollment

At the time you apply for a 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Davis TAG:

  • You must have a plan to complete 30 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ-transferable semester-units (45 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ-transferable quarter-units) at one or more CCC's
  • The last college you attended in a regular session must be a CCC
  • Last term must have no more than 19 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ-transferable semester units (28 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ-transferable quarter-units in progress.


Units

Completed by end of summer 2024:

  • Minimum 30 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ-transferable semester-units (45 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ-transferable quarter-units)

Completed by the end of spring term prior to transfer:

  • Minimum 60 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ-transferable semester-units (90 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ-transferable quarter-units)
  • Minimum 30 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ-transferable semester-units (45 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ-transferable quarter-units) of overall units must be from a CCC
  • Last term must have no more than 19 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ-transferable semester units (28.5 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ-transferable quarter-units)

51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ-transferable course GPA

Completed by end of summer 2024:

  • Earn at least a 3.20 GPA for all majors in the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, the College of Biological Sciences and the College of Letters and Science.
  • Earn at least a 3.50 GPA for all majors in the College of Engineering.

Additional GPA requirements:

  • Meet any additional GPA requirements for selective major courses with no grade lower than a C in all 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ transferable course work in current fall term. 


51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏE, 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏM and 7-course pattern

  • Minimum two English composition courses (51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏE); At least one 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ-E must be completed by the end of fall. Second 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ-E can be in progress for spring.
  • Mathematical concepts and quantitative reasoning course completed (51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏM) by end of fall.

Completed by the end of spring term prior to transfer, four courses from at least two of the following subject areas:

  • Arts and Humanities (51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏH)
  • Social and Behavioral Sciences (51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏB)
  • Physical and Biological Sciences (51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏS)

Situations precluding eligibility

  • Students who are concurrently enrolled in high school at the time of TAG submission
  • Students who have already earned a bachelor, graduate and/or professional degree
  • Students previously enrolled at a 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ campus who were not in good standing when they left that 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ
  • at 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Davis during a regular term (excluding summer)

Selective major course requirements

Certain majors are considered selective and have additional requirements for all applicants. TAG requirements may exceed these selective major course requirements—both selective major and TAG requirements must be satisfied. You must complete selective major course requirements as outlined by the end of spring term prior to transfer. You must achieve and maintain minimum required GPAs for courses in the groups or series below that have been completed at the time of application.


Additional tips

All coursework, including international coursework, must be reported on the TAG and 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ application, regardless if it is considered transferable or if the student does not want any credit.

Lower division unit limitations

To be eligible for a TAG, students who attended any colleges or universities other than a CCC must have less than 80 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ-transferable semester-units (120 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ-transferable quarter-units) overall, after applying 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ lower-division unit limitations and exclusions.
