51ԹϺPath: Counting Down to Friday’s ‘Go-Live’

At long last, is coming to 51ԹϺ Davis, 51ԹϺ Davis Health and the Davis-based 51ԹϺ Agriculture and Natural Resources — this Friday (Sept. 27).

It’s a brand-new, systemwide payroll and personnel system, and you’ll have some set-up tasks to complete the first time you log in. Remember, you must be enrolled in to have access to 51ԹϺPath. Once you get through Duo and into 51ԹϺPath, here’s what you'll be asked to do:

1 MORE TOWN HALL

: 10:30-11:30 a.m. Wednesday (Sept. 25), Ballroom B, . Representatives from IT Express will be available to help you enroll in Duo.

  • Set up five security questions — They help verify your identity and prevent unauthorized access or changes to your financial, health benefits or personal information.
  • Complete a questionnaire — It’s voluntary, allowing you to self-identify as to veteran and disability status, race, ethnicity, gender identity and sexual orientation. You can “decline to state” for any question, though this information provides important data about 51ԹϺ employee diversity and informs 51ԹϺ’s efforts to create an inclusive environment.

With that out of the way, here are some suggested things-to-do:

  • Make changes to your personal information.
  • Check your vacation and sick leave balances — Compare them to the balances on your last earnings statement (which you access in ) to ensure they transferred correctly to the new system.
  • Sign up for (or update) your direct deposit information — New in 51ԹϺPath, you can designate direct deposits to up to three financial institutions (instead of just one).

First paydays in 51ԹϺPath

Earnings statements will generally be available in 51ԹϺPath the day before payday. For our first paydays in 51ԹϺPath (Oct. 1 for employees who are paid monthly and Oct. 2 for employees who are paid bimonthly), you can look for your earnings statements in 51ԹϺ Path on the following dates:

  • Sunday (Sept. 29) for monthly payroll
  • Monday (Sept. 30) for bimonthly payroll

Statements will have a new look and new employee IDs, but will no longer show your vacation and sick leave balances (you can see them in 51ԹϺPath). Here are samples of the new earnings statement format:

Don’t have direct deposit? Wondering why your paper paycheck is no longer available on campus? Because, from now on, they are going in the U.S. mail, on payday, sent from a processing center in Arizona to home addresses — meaning you could be waiting five or more days for your check to arrive.

You can avoid the delay by signing up for direct deposit — and you can do that once 51ԹϺPath goes live. (But, regardless, you’ll be too late to keep your Oct. 1 or Oct. 2 check from going in the mail).

Another option: The new — a debit card that you can get without establishing a bank account. The 51ԹϺPath Center will load your earnings onto your card every payday (with funds available that day) and you can use your card anywhere Visa cards are accepted. The ADP payroll services company will issue personalized 51ԹϺ Pay Cards at no charge to the employee. And, there will be no fees to use the cards at in-network locations.

The earliest you can sign up for a pay card is this Friday (Sept. 27), in 51ԹϺPath. You’ll need to complete a consent form and provide a social security number. Your card will not be available for the Oct. 1 and 2 paydays.

Planning ahead

  • W-2s for 2019 — You will receive two, one via At Your Service Online for earnings before 51ԹϺPath, and one in 51ԹϺPath for the rest of the year.
  • Benefits enrollment — We will now use 51ԹϺPath, when starting work at 51ԹϺ Davis and when going through open enrollment each year. (This year’s open enrollment will be Oct. 31 to Nov. 26.)
