Yolo and 40 other California counties will return to the state’s purple — or most restrictive — tier Tuesday (Nov. 17), and several campus activities are closing as a result.
As part of the state restrictions that come along with a “widespread” risk level, indoor dining and gyms are not allowed.
Tercero and Segundo dining commons expanded to allow indoor dining last month, but will return to to-go service only starting Tuesday.
The Coffee House will be unaffected, as it has offered only takeout and delivery service since reopening this fall.
The ARC will close at the end of the day today. It had reopened to students by appointment on Nov. 1 and was preparing to welcome faculty and staff back on Dec. 1. The Craft Center will also close.
, including group exercise classes, personal training, lap swimming at the Rec Pool, rentals at Outdoor Adventures and lessons and boarding at the Equestrian Center.
Campus Recreation will continue in this way until at least Jan. 4.
Counties must be in any given tier for three weeks before restrictions can relax, Yolo County said.
The state defines the “widespread” risk level as seven-day averages of more than seven new COVID-19 cases per 100,000 people or a test positivity rate of more than 8 percent. in data updated today.
