Student Housing and Dining Services is seeking volunteers to help more than 11,000 new residents “Moove In” to on-campus housing throughout the month of September.
Gone are the condensed Moove-In weekends of the past — instead, residents will be asked to choose appointments on several days that are spread throughout the month to ease the impact on campus roadways and parking.
This means more volunteers are needed to help go smoothly. Volunteer shifts are a minimum of two hours between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., and all Moove-In dates are weekdays. Those who contribute their time will receive a free T-shirt to identify them to residents and their families, along with a discounted meal rate at a dining commons on the day they help.
All are encouraged to volunteer: students, faculty, staff, retirees, alumni and community members.
This fall will see the first residents for a new housing complex, Orchard Park. That area caters specifically to families, graduate and continuing undergraduate students.
