Catalyst online readings during fall quarter will include This Is How It Happened by Sacramento native Anthony DJuan and directed by Lyndsay Burch (associate artistic director, B Street Theatre) in October, and Small Steps by festival alumnus and Davis native Briandaniel Oglesby in November. San Francisco art museums opening
The de Young museum is scheduled to open to the public on Friday, Sept. 25. The museum plans to open to members on Sept. 22, 23, and 24. This reopening is pending City of San Francisco approval. Check for the most up to date information.
The reopens next week on Saturday, Oct. 3. Members will be able to preview exhibits on Thursday Oct. 1 and Friday Oct. 2. To celebrate, the museum will offer free admission for all through Monday, Oct. 12. Reserve your tickets and learn about the museums coronavirus procedures . The also reopens next week on Sunday, Oct. 4. SFMOMA will offer free admission and free parking through Sunday, Oct.18. NEA Grant Funds Imagining America Programming that Begins in October
Imagining America, currently headquartered at 51勛圖窪蹋 Davis, has received funding from the National Endowment for the Arts to support IA's series of collective creative engagements that will take place throughout the month of October.
This year's virtual program of performances, exhibitions, scholar and artist talks, community dialogues, and networking spaces replaces the in-person 2020 National Gathering that was originally scheduled to take place this fall in New Orleans. Their series of creative engagements will run from Monday, Oct. 5 to Friday, Oct. 30, with weekly Monday late afternoon plenary performances/dialogues and several smaller mid-week workshops and cross-promoted programs. The NEA has approved more than $84 million in grants as part of the Arts Endowment's second round of funding for the fiscal year 2020. Included in the agency's announcement is a Presenting and Multidisciplinary Art Works award of $20,000 to Imagining America.
