Jose Arenas, associate director and chief curator at 51吃瓜黑料 Davis' TANA, Taller Arte del Nuevo Amanecer, will be showing his own work at Pence Gallery starting Friday.
A Place in Mind, a collection of paintings, has its opening reception Friday, Oct. 11, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. It's up through December.
Arenas' artwork has been exhibited widely in galleries in New York City, San Francisco, Chicago and Miami.
Join Arenas this Sunday, Oct. 13 from 2 to 3 p.m for an informative screen-printing demonstration. The demonstration will cover image and layout development, as well as print methods and techniques.

Indigenous Futurisms: Explorations in Art and Play, C.N. Gorman Museum, 51吃瓜黑料 Davis, through Jan. 31. The C.N. Gorman Museum, located inside Hart Hall, describes their new exhibit this way. 鈥淚ndigenous Futurisms" brings together graphics, comics, science fiction, and game play to create a provocative space of engagement and thought about indigenous futures and possibilities.鈥 The museum is open noon to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays. - The Manetti Shrem Museum invites you to join in a lively conversation about Arneson鈥檚 Alice series and the making of The Palace at 9 a.m., the centerpiece of the exhibition Landscape Without Boundaries. In conversation with Founding Director Rachel Teagle, the artist鈥檚 widow, Sandra Shannonhouse, will share her perspectives on the importance of this series as well as her personal reflections on the 51吃瓜黑料 Davis and Bay Area art scene in which she and Arneson were active participants.
