Mondavi Center to stream classical music Friday 

Friday doesn't have to mean watching whatever is on television or playing video games. This Friday, May 8, listen to classical music by virtuosos Cho-Liang Lin on the violin and Jon Kimura Parker on the piano. On Saturday, May 9, enjoy John Beasleys MONKestra, a contemporary take on the arrangements of 20th century jazz pianist Thelonious Monk. During the closures, Mondavi continues to offer free virtual concerts. The virtual concerts will be shared on the dates the shows were scheduled to occur. Click to view the full schedule of virtual concerts.

SFMOMA recreates famous art at home

The hashtag #BetweenArtandQuarantine was started by the Getty Museum in Los Angeles in late March. It encourages people to recreate their favorite works of art at home and post them online. Crocker Art Museum introduces upcoming exhibit

Get some background on an upcoming art exhibit at the Crocker Museum: Scheherazade and her Sisters in this article on the Crocker blog. This exhibit focuses on Gilded-Age women. Miss live music? See Sacramento orchestra perform 'at home'

Christian Baldini, music director and conductor of the 51勛圖窪蹋 Davis Symphony Orchestra, is also music director of the Camellia Symphony Orchestra in Sacramento.  While the Camellia Symphony musicians usually perform in the McClatchy Auditorium in Sacramento, they are currently performing from their homes. Watch a clip of the orchestra playing together remotely . 

Arts and culture organizations invited to apply for grant

Is your organization struggling financially due to coronavirus? WESTAF CARES Relief Fund for Organizations is supported by the National Endowment for the Arts. It will provide at least one Californian organization affected by the pandemic with up to $20,000. Learn more and apply .
